Let’s start with a disclaimer: this project is 100% a labor of love. Parenting is such a deeply personal experience, and it’s hard not to take things personally when your entire heart is wrapped up in your kids and it's ALL very personal. So, I'm just telling you straight: I know I am not a perfect mom, nor do I pretend to be. I'm just another mom who absolutely loves their kids and feels that being a mom has given me the best reflections—both good and bad—to help me grow as not only a parent, but as a human being.
I’ve cried, I’ve laughed, I’ve been ridiculously overprotective, and I’ve definitely had my share of "what the hell am I doing?" moments. I imagine you have too. And that’s why we’re here—to create a space where we can share, connect, and build our own mom village.
No Judgment, Just Stories
Let me say this loud and clear: anything I share is never meant as a judgment. What’s right for my family might not be right for yours. I’m going to be honest about both my failures and my successes because I think it’s vital to reflect on what could be done better. Believe me, I do plenty of self-reflection.
That self-inventory has become a compulsion of mine, but I hope it's a positive demonstration for my kids—to always look inward and strive to be the best version of themselves. I don’t share because I have it all figured out (I absolutely don’t). I share because maybe something I’ve learned can help you along your journey. And in return, I hope you’ll share your stories with me—how you’ve gotten through milestones, how you’ve faced challenges, or maybe just those moments when you needed a good cry and a lot of coffee.
Sometimes, we moms just need a little camaraderie. Let’s create that space here.
A Little About My Family
So, who am I parenting? Well, I have quite the blended crew!
My first son is in his twenties and navigating adulthood.
My youngest son is finishing up high school and prepping to take on the world.
My stepdaughter—whom I didn’t raise (that’s a story for another time)—is in her late thirties and is just a badass, independent woman.
This mix of stages and personalities has given me a wide perspective on parenting, and I’m going to be sharing stories that touch on everything from early childhood to sending your kids off into the world.
What to Expect from LoveMom.com
I’ll be writing about all the parenting phases you might relate to, and maybe some you haven’t hit yet (or have already survived):
Family Business: What that means to me and how we manage family dynamics.
Co-Parenting: Building a unified front with your partner, even when you don't always agree.
Your Village: The importance of surrounding yourself with people you trust to help you through the hard times and celebrate the good ones.
Me Time: (This one’s for me too, because I don’t take enough of it—sound familiar?)
Life Stages:
Littles: The adorable chaos of early childhood.
Tweens: That wild middle ground where they’re not quite kids, not quite teens.
Teens: Oh, the joys and challenges of raising them as they push boundaries and grow their independence.
Launching Them: Higher education, trade school, work, military—whatever path your child takes, it’s a journey that reshapes the entire family.
Caring for Aging Parents: Balancing your responsibilities as a mom while also navigating the challenges of your parents’ senior years.
I’ll share pearls of wisdom that have helped me along the way, stories of triumph and failure, and hopefully a few laughs to lighten the load.
Why I’m Doing This
Honestly, this blog is for all of us. For the moms who are juggling a thousand things and just want to know they aren’t alone. For those looking for advice, solidarity, or just a place to feel seen and understood.
If you’ve made it this far, I hope you’ll stick around. Share your stories, connect with me, and help spread the word by sharing this blog with other moms and parents who might enjoy my ramblings. Together, we can build something beautiful—a community of moms supporting each other through all the highs and lows of this crazy parenting journey.
That’s it for now. Thanks for being here.
